you don’t need more tools
you need somewhere to land
To be witnessed.
To be met.
To learn to listen to what you already know.
One to one somatic coaching for women in midlife.

You say the agreeable thing, then spend the rest of the day feeling the truth sitting unsaid in your chest.
You can feel there is more life available to you, but you can't quite find the way back to it.
You've read the books. Done the work. Understand yourself inside out. And somehow, you're still living the same patterns.
You shrink to fit the room before you've even decided to, then realise afterwards that you've made yourself smaller again.
You dress for the woman you're expected to be, while the clothes that make you feel most like yourself stay hanging in the wardrobe.
You live from the neck up, managing, analysing and holding everything together, while your body has been waiting for you to listen.
You want to be fully seen, but you’ve become very skilled at staying out of sight.
You keep striving towards the woman you think you're supposed to become, without realising she isn't somewhere ahead of you. She's already here.
You're tired of being the capable one, the dependable one, the one who can handle it all. And you're beginning to wonder who you might be if you stopped having to be all of that.
You know what your patterns are. What you don't yet know is what becomes possible when you stop organising your life around them.
You say yes when something in you means no, then wonder why you're exhausted.
You don't want another strategy for managing yourself. You want to feel fully alive again.
You've spent years being everything you need to be for everyone else. You're ready to find out what happens when you include yourself.
you are not broken
You never were.
The exhaustion, the overwhelm, the sense that you have lost yourself along the way, this is not evidence that something is wrong with you. It is the consequence of years spent adapting to systems that asked you to be everything for everyone but yourself.
Much of what passes for healing asks women to fix themselves in isolation. To turn inward, alone, as though our struggles were private failings rather than the wounds of a culture that severed us from one another. It leaves us circling the idea that there is something wrong with us.
But what if the anxiety, the shrinking, the people-pleasing, the chronic striving were never signs of failure, but intelligent responses to the conditions you were living in?
Striving to heal cannot reveal the truth of who you are.
Your body is not a problem to be solved. It is a compass. It holds your boundaries, your longings, your grief, your truth. It is the place where your no lives. And just as importantly, your yes. When you learn to listen, it becomes possible to stop choosing from obligation, and start choosing from desire.
This work is not about fixing. It is about reclaiming your aliveness. The delicious rebellion of belonging fully to yourself.
And it is not something we were ever meant to do alone. We come back to ourselves in relationship. In being witnessed. In connection with the living world that reminds us we belong to something far larger than ourselves.
You are not broken. You are becoming.
meet charlotte
I'm Charlotte, a somatic coach, facilitator and photographer of more than twenty years. I work with women standing at the threshold of midlife, women who have spent years caring, striving, achieving and holding everything together, only to realise that somewhere along the way, they’ve abandoned themselves.
I've been all the way through the fire myself. I came out the other side not untouched, but unbroken and feeling more fully alive than ever. My work has been shaped by chronic illness, loss, grief and countless moments of finding my way back to my body when it would have been easier to stay with the chatter of my own thoughts. I know this terrain from the inside, and that is not a credential. It is a covenant.
I don't believe we were ever meant to figure ourselves out alone. So much of what we call personal transformation happens in relationship: in being witnessed, in being listened to, and in having space to discover what is true for you beneath the noise of expectation and conditioning.
I won't offer you a tidy story or pretend I have arrived somewhere finished. I'm still a woman living this work too.
What I can offer is a place to slow down, listen beneath the words and begin trusting the wisdom of your own body. I'll meet you where you are, and walk beside you as you remember what has been there all along.
the shape of the work
Every journey is different, but the work often moves in two phases.
At first, we make space for what has not yet been digested. Most women arrive with a clear idea of what they want to explore, and almost always something else emerges first. Whatever is most ready rises to meet us. We meet it with curiosity rather than judgement, allowing your nervous system the time and conditions it needs to complete what has remained unfinished, sometimes for years, sometimes for decades.
When the body is no longer spending so much energy holding the past, something begins to soften. Space appears. Choice returns.
From there, we begin to turn towards the life that is asking to be lived. Together we explore what is calling you now, what feels alive, what wants to grow, and what it means to inhabit your life more fully. Often this is the first time in years a woman has had the space to ask herself not What do I need to do? but What do I truly want?
how we meet
*
how we meet *
Our work unfolds over nine sessions across three months, or eighteen across six.
We usually begin with weekly sessions, allowing you to rebuild trust in your own body and reconnect with your felt senses. As that relationship deepens, we move to fortnightly, giving each shift time to settle into everyday life.
Lasting change doesn’t happen in the sessions alone. It unfolds in the conversations you have, the boundaries you hold, the choices you make, and the quieter ways you begin to meet yourself in-between sessions.
Each session lasts around seventy five minutes, although I never rush a body that needs a little longer. We meet online, over Zoom.
how we work
Somatic coaching begins with your body, but the work doesn't stop there. We draw on a range of practices and perspectives to help you understand your patterns, access your own knowing and create new possibilities for how you live.
-
Sometimes the body speaks in images before it speaks in words. We might work with an archetype, image or metaphor that emerges in a session, using it to explore something your conscious mind hasn't quite been able to articulate.
-
You are part of the living world, not separate from it. Nature, seasons, plants, weather and place can become resources for reflection, regulation and connection, helping you find perspectives that aren't available through thinking alone.
-
Imagination isn't about making things up. It is a way of accessing the intelligence that lives beyond conscious thought. Through imagery, sensation and embodied exploration, we create space for your system to show you what it already knows.
-
There is no formula for this work and no need to force a breakthrough. We follow what your body is ready for, allowing enough time for things to settle, integrate and become part of your everyday life.
-
What happens between us matters. Being witnessed without being judged or managed can reveal things that are difficult to access alone. We pay attention not only to what you are experiencing, but to what emerges in the space between us. This is where new possibilities can begin to appear.
-
You are part of a story that began long before you. We can explore the patterns, beliefs and ways of being that have travelled through your lineage, noticing what has shaped you and what may no longer belong with you. As part of this work, we may also invite in friendly, supportive and benevolent ancestors as sources of wisdom, strength and support.

between sessions
Across three or six months, each lasting around seventy five minutes. We begin weekly, then move to fortnightly, so that what shifts has time to settle into your life.
By WhatsApp or email between sessions. Most women write to tell me what has shifted, a dream that arrived, something they said out loud for the first time.
the exchange
Both packages are enough to change things.
Three months gives you space to begin meeting yourself differently. To notice the patterns, listen to your body, and start making choices from a different place.
Six months gives us more room to go deeper. To build the capacity to stay present with what life brings rather than adding each new experience to the pile of everything that came before.
Three months can change how you meet yourself. Six months can change what becomes possible when you do.
Payment plans are available, and the £45 you pay for your Threshold Call is deducted from the cost of your coaching package.

SIX MONTHS

what women are saying
“This was my first time working somatically and I felt very supported in a new way of working. Charlotte seemed to know when to challenge me and when to hold back. She created a space where I could be totally honest with myself and say out loud the things I couldn't say anywhere else. Lots of unexpected insights came up that I would never have discovered alone and I finished the three months with a different relationship to my body, a clearer idea of where I am heading and generally excited for what happens next!”
— ALISON“The first thing I noticed was how Charlotte made her online zoom sessions so intimate and safe. I was yearning for rest and nourishment, and in our first two sessions, I felt comfortable to lay down in front of her and just doze. Over the weeks, deep seated emotions came up to the surface to be released, but rather than feel distress at their arrival, I felt joy to finally let go. The effects are such that I no longer feel triggered by the same memories. I feel liberated. ”
— U“Working with Charlotte is like walking a magical maze together… not entirely sure how everything is going to come together, until you make it to the middle and all the pieces click into place! She helped me unlock a whole new level of clarity; her wisdom filtering through, guiding me to see what is wanting to come online most in this moment of my life. I highly highly recommend working with Charlotte if you want to be seen, heard and guided with immense care and wisdom. She is pure magick!”

No. Therapy often works through dialogue, understanding and processing your thoughts, feelings and past experiences. Somatic coaching invites you into a deeper relationship with your body as a source of wisdom and guidance.
We work with the felt sense, what is alive in you beneath the words, exploring how life has been stored in your body and what may be asking to shift, to be heard, or to be reclaimed.
This is not a space for diagnosis. If something arises that feels outside the scope of coaching, we will talk about it, and I may suggest you seek the support of a therapist alongside or instead of our sessions. Working with a therapist and a somatic coach at the same time can be potent medicine, though it requires careful communication and a clear understanding of each person's scope of practice.
-
Each session is a spacious, collaborative process. We begin by checking in with what is present for you, then explore through conversation, embodied awareness and somatic practice. You will be guided to listen to your body, follow its cues, and notice what is asking to be felt or expressed. Sometimes that can feel like numbness. Even numbness and not knowing are information to be curious about.
-
Not at all. You are welcome exactly as you are. Whether this is your first time exploring the body in this way, or you have been on a long path already, we go at your pace. Curiosity and willingness are all you need.
-
That is where a great many women begin. Years of living from the neck up can leave the signal faint, and finding your way back to your felt sense is the first part of the work rather than something you need before you start. That said, may women come to this work believing they have no connection to their body or felt senses and are suprised when they discover that they do.
-
Somatic coaching can meet you at many thresholds: burnout, identity shifts, emotional numbness, disconnection from yourself or your body, the loss of your own wants and needs, or simply a longing to feel more alive and at home in your skin. If you are navigating a transition or seeking reconnection, this work can meet you there.
-
There are no guarantees or quick fixes here. This is not a results-driven process. It is a relationship, a conversation with your body, and a slow remembering of who you are beneath the undigested experiences and the adaptive behaviours your nervous system created to keep you safe.
This work is not only about digesting what is unfinished. It also invites you to expand your portals of possibility, so that your nervous system has more capacity to meet life as it happens, to move with the ebb and flow without needing to shut down, numb out, or push through.
I cannot promise specific outcomes, because every woman's experience is as particular as she is. What I can promise is to walk beside you, and to hold a reliable container where whatever arises is met with care, presence and respect.

With a threshold call. An hour together to feel whether this is right, and to talk about what you are standing at the edge of. It is £45, credited in full against your coaching if we go on to work together.
ready to begin?
The threshold call is an hour together to feel into whether this is right for you and if we’re a good fit. It’s not a sales conversation. We look at what you are standing at the edge of, and what it would take to cross it.
£45, credited in full against your coaching if we go on to work together. A questionnaire will arrive before your session.
